What we do

Sonic Identity

Fiji Airways to Tahiti Tourism, BBC to ABC, Virgin to Metro. We have created award winning bespoke music branding packages for some of the worlds biggest brands. It’s not just our creativity, but our experience of how audio influences individuals, environments and touch points.

Sound Design

We create sounds for film, video games, music software and hardware. Our blend of real audio and advanced synthesis is one of the key ingredients to our sound design process. Our sound design projects include Samsung, Alienware, Tourism Australia and the International Cricket Council.

Music Production

samplify has produced soundtracks for major events including the Sydney New Years Eve fireworks show, the International Fleet Review and major motor shows around the world . We have recorded and remixed chart topping tracks and produced audio and voice overs for radio, TV, film and portable devices.

Music Composition

Ford to Jaguar, Dove to LG. Film, television, advertising and events to our own music projects and collaborations. We have composed multi award winning music for many clients and mediums. We work closely with a range of composers both here in Melbourne and around Australia.

About Us


Davide Carbone

Davide Carbone has been at the forefront of Australia’s electronic music since the late eighties. One of the first DJ’s to introduce house and techno into Australia, Davide went on to form the successful electronic act Future Sound of Melbourne with samplify co-founder Josh Abrahams.

After winning an ARIA for best Australian Dance Release as part of Future Sound of Melbourne and playing at the iconic Roskilde Festival in Denmark, Davide relocated to England where he settled down and launched his own imprint BS1 Records.

Continuing on with successful releases reaching the top 5 placing in the UK’s Dance Singles Chart, Davide began work with UK music production house Delicious Digital as an in-house composer. During this time Davide wrote music for the BBC, Virgin, Discovery Channel, Samsung and more.

Davide now resides in Australia and runs samplify alongside Josh Abrahams as well as the music production institute School of Synthesis. Renowned as one of the leading sound designers in the country, Davide has a unique ability to create outer world sound scapes and effects as well as captivating composition for clients in the ilk of Ford and the Royal Australian Navy.


Josh Abrahams

After beginning work on his solo album ‘Sweet Distorted Holiday’ in the early 90’s, director Baz Luhrmann expressed interest in a collaboration which resulted in the production of tracks for Luhrmann’s album ‘Something For Everybody’. One of these songs became a 1998 UK #1 single, ‘Everybody’s Free (to Wear Sunscreen)’.

Josh’s own solo chart success continued with his 1999 platinum selling single, ‘Addicted to Bass’ from the album ‘Sweet Distorted Holiday’, which was nominated for six ARIA awards. It won two, for Best Dance Album and Best Independent Release. In 2001, Josh added to his producer credits with the platinum selling single ‘Lovesong’, and gold selling album ‘Audio Out’, for the Addicted singer, Amiel.

Josh’s career expanded into the film industry as he went on to work with directors such as Luhrmann’s (‘Moulin Rouge’) and Ang Lee (‘One Last Ride’) as well stints in the realm of theatre with the Edinborough Fringe Festival and the world famous Spiegeltent in the US.

More recently Josh has worked on the multi award nominated short film ‘Woody’ as well has having completed original scores for Dove, Tourism Australia, LG, Bailey’s and a host more.

Who We Work With


Carl Cox

Is there a more iconic, recognisable and successful DJ on the planet?

Carl Cox spends most of each year touring the globe, performing as one of the world’s top DJ’s. He spends a few months of each year in Melbourne, and during that time he is often in working with us at Samplify, writing his own music, creating top shelf remixes for world class artists, and writing the occasional screen soundtrack.


Brett Rosenberg

Arranger, composer, keyboardist, producer, Minties addict. Brett is a multi-award winning film composer.

His most celebrated score is for the feature film Half Light, starring Demi Moore, recorded at London’s Air Studios with the London Symphony Orchestra, which was highly acclaimed, eventually earning Brett the Best New Composer award from the International Film Music Critics Association.


Paul Pirola

Paul has recently moved back to Australia from LA. His breadth of work speaks for itself as one of Australia’s premier sound designers and mixers.

His projects have included the feature films Knight & Day, Sanctum, Sucker Punch and Kung Fu Panda. His roles have included 5.1 surround mixing, sound designer, sound effects editor, sound supervisor and re recording mixer.


Juanita Timpanaro

Juanita Timpanaro is a singer, voice artist and song writer. She has co-written and performed TVC’s for Baileys, Portmans as well as providing vocals for other adverts such as Target. Juanita provides Top lines for DJ’s around the globe and written her own original compositions. Juanita’s voice has a distinct throaty, resonating roar, iced with a quirky, sweet vibrato.


Lachlan Davidson

Completing A.Mus.A on Saxophone in 1979, Lachlan graduated with distinction from The Victorian College of the Arts in 1983.

Performing solos with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, lead Alto sax with The Australian art Orchestra and the Daryl Mckenzie Big-band and many T.V. (Dancing with the stars-all seasons) and concert performances (Frank Sinatra, Stevie Wonder, John Farnham) also on many C.D’s and films.


Eden Altman

Eden Altman is a professional session guitarist, singer, composer and producer. He has been a frequent touring guitarist for Opiuo and Spoonbill and many others. Eden has composed television themes for popular free to air programs including Good Chef Bad Chef, The Car Show, The Boat Show, Ford 4 Life, Secret Meat Business and Miguel’s Tropical Kitchen.


Marty Lubran

Early member of Hunters & Collectors. Marty Lubran is a player, co-producer and composer for television and Australian feature film soundtracks, including Love and Other Catastrophes and The Castle. His playing has featured on 3 number 1 charting Australian albums. He currently performs with Melbourne band The Vaudeville Smash.


Shelley Segal

Truly an artist with international flair Shelley Segal’s powerful voice and explicit songs have taken her around Australia, Hong Kong, China, England and eight tours of the United States. She has performed to festival crowds of over 30,000 people. Desirous of all expressions, Shelley flirts with elements of jazz, folk, pop, blues and reggae, imparting a pure joy about music and it’s power.
